Programs for Men
Men also suffer, often silently, the symptoms of hormone loss and/or imbalance. This state of being is called andropause and can be life altering. Symptoms of hormone imbalances in men include:
• Low libido
• Weight gain, especially around the middle
• Loss of muscle mass in the pectoral muscles (development of breasts)
• Poor sleep
• Brain fog/poor memory
Traditionally men, if they even discuss this with their doctor, will undergo only a blood test for testosterone. If testosterone is in the low but normal range often it is untreated. In the low range, testosterone cream and/or shots are given. More often than not no significant improvement is felt. This testosterone given to a man in a dysregulated state will often be converted to other hormones such as cortisol and estrogen and can even produce undesirable effects.
Using the research based functional medicine model of Balanced Interventional Wellness™, our team has created the ultimate personalized program to address these hormone imbalances and deficiencies in both women AND men.
Our trademarked Balanced Interventional Wellness model, strives to uncover the root causes of symptoms and correct them. This approach enables us to help our patients minimize their medications, resolve their symptoms and achieve optimal health, wellness, and hormone balance.
Because hormone balance can only be achieved when the whole body is balanced, a full wellness evaluation is necessary whenever hormones are evaluated. The body’s system of hormones not only includes the sex hormones, but leptin (satiety), ghrelin (hunger), insulin and cortisol, to name a few. These hormones are strongly influenced by gut health, diet, nutrient deficiencies, exercise, stress, and sleep patterns. We consider all of these factors in these evaluations.
In order to balance hormones, a partnership between the patient, doctor, and coordinator is needed. The nature of our practice is to evaluate your symptoms with state of the art lab testing and then formulate a comprehensive personalized treatment. Please remember that you will get out of this program what you put into it. You are ultimately responsible for your health. We are going to partner with you on this journey and every patient’s progress is different and unique. It is critical to your success to keep all of your appointments and be committed to the recommended treatment plan.
Male hormone visits are done with Dr. Ginsberg and a wellness coordinator. In order to evaluate complete male hormones thoroughly, a general wellness consultation is required to determine each individual’s specific needs. The consult lasts approximately an hour to an hour and a half. The physician’s part of the visit will be billed through insurance and is subject to copay or deductible (please check to make sure Dr. Ginsberg is in network for you). The wellness part of the visit is not covered by insurance. For more information on pricing you can email Sheila Vuckovic at email@example.com
At your wellness and physician visit various functional blood, saliva and/or urine tests may be required. These tests are separate and not included in the cost of the visit. Visit Hormone Balance Testing for more information.
